KYRAN BRACKEN CONFIRMED TO HOST 2018 AWARDS DINNER

The FeRFA Awards Dinner will be a glittering event in the Park Suite and an ideal opportunity to entertain customers, reward staff or enjoy a pre-Christmas get together with friends.

Our host for the Awards evening is former England rugby player Kyran Bracken.
Kyran played rugby for England for 10 years, gaining 50 caps. After retiring Kyran swapped his rugby shirt for all-in-one lycra and agreed to appear on ITV’s Dancing on Ice. He went on to win the contest. The spray tan and sparkly outfits clearly made their mark – Kyran’s passion for ice skating continues. But he’s also stayed close to rugby as a coach at Leicester.

The 2018 FeRFA Best Practice Awards will be presented after dinner and we will be honouring this year’s Apprentice Graduates with the presentation of their NVQ diplomas and certificates. FeRFA graduation is supported by CITB.

You can then dance the evening away or enjoy a drink in the Park Suite Bar.

The cost for the dinner is £75 (plus VAT) with discounts available for tables of 10+.
Dress: Black Tie

If you would like to attend the AGM and/or the Awards Dinner, please complete this booking form and email to secretariat@ferfa.org.uk.

NEW APPRENTICESHIPS STARTS 26-27 SEPTEMBER 2018

FeRFA will be starting two new Apprenticeships in Resin Flooring and Surface Preparation on 26-27 September 2018 at the Ibis Hotel in Rugby.

The two-year scheme will lead to an NVQ Level 2 Diploma and the scheme is fully grant funded for CITB registered employers. The current CITB funding for specialist apprenticeship schemes is very advantageous to employers, so this may be a good opportunity to put a candidate forward and enable you to recoup CITB levy payments for training. More details on the scheme are available here.

To pre-register for this scheme please download this candidate enrolment form and send back to FeRFA.

If you wish to enrol an apprentice or have any other queries about the schemes on offer and their benefits, please call FeRFA on 07484 075254 or email secretariat@ferfa.org.uk.

OTHER NEWS

HAVE YOUR SAY ON THE FUTURE OF APPRENTICESHIP GRANTS

Did you know that CITB distributed £75 million in apprenticeship grants between January 2017 and March 2018?

This considerable financial support, funded by the CITB Levy, enabled over 10,000 construction employers to train nearly 30,000 apprentices across Great Britain.

But the industry still needs skilled workers. CITB research shows that as many as 158,000 construction jobs will be created between now and 2022.

CITB recently committed to undertake a full review of apprenticeship grants and they are engaging with stakeholders to gather their views.

CITB staff have been meeting groups of employers and Federations to discuss how apprenticeships should be supported by the Grants Scheme in the future. Feedback gathered from businesses of all sizes is helping inform our discussions and will be considered when any decisions are made.

In addition to these meetings, to ensure that a broad range of views are considered, we’re encouraging all those with an interest in apprenticeships to complete a brief Apprenticeship Grant Reform survey.
