SCREEDING APPRENTICESHIP STARTING JANUARY

FeRFA is starting a new apprenticeship scheme in In-situ Flooring: Screeds on January 29/30th 2019 with special funding arrangements for CITB registered employers with eligible candidates – offering great benefits to the cashflow of your business while allowing you to train for the future.  Places are limited to please hurry to submit you learner’s details for registration. The 18 month scheme leads to a NVQ Level 2 Diploma and a Blue CSCS Skilled Worker Card. More details on the apprenticeship schemes are available here http://www.ferfa.org.uk/apprenticeships/. PREP 10 COMPLETE POLISHING MODULE

The 10th Group of apprentices on the Prepare & Profile Substrates course took their module on Polishing this month.

The two day course, hosted by The Preparation Group, combined classroom theory and practical sessions on subjects including selection of equipment, types of surfaces and stages of polishing. Apprentices in this group are James Brown, Kevin Webster, Benjamin Sibbons (The Preparation Group), Kristen Coussens (GSB Surface Preparation Ltd) and Brian George (Prep 9 – Veitchi Flooring).

IFT installs flooring at Glasgow’s new So LA restaurant

IFT was appointed by Rusk & Rusk to install flooring at the new So L.A. restaurant on Mitchell Street in Glasgow. Working alongside the main contractor, the team at IFT installed 300 sqm Mapei Ultratop Light Grey as finished floor including seal coat, 200sqm Uzin NC170 industrial floor screed including seal coat, 100sqm Altro Stronghold sheet vinyl, 50sqm Ege Highline Carpet to basement and stairs, as well as 100sqm of Hygienic Wall Cladding. FeRFA RECYCLING SCHEME

ARE YOU TAKING PART?

If you are not already submitting your recycling data  please start doing this now to qualify for the recycling logo within your FeRFA website entry. It is easy to do using the datasheet (if not using Reconomy) – only two figures are needed per month – total weight collected and total weight recycled or recovered. This is information that should be provided by your waste collector. If it isn’t then ask them why not. The spreadsheet includes a graph, automatically generated from your figures – which you can show to prospective clients. More details on the recycling initiative are here. The data shown may be incomplete due to GDPR issues.  Members have been sent consent forms and are urged to return them as soon as possible to ensure that the recycling data reported is as accurate as possible.
