Sunlight House, Manchester

In October 2019, Ancorite had the pleasure of contributing to the refurbishment works on the landmark 215,000 sq. foot Sunlight House on Manchester’s Quay Street – an iconic city building seeped in heritage.

With the project requiring extensive remodelling of the reception area, an upgrade to public areas (including a café) and a Cat A refurbishment of the 13th floor, the Ancorite team delighted in contributing expertise and impeccable attention to detail to install new striking Flowcrete Mondeco Terrazzo flooring to the ground floor, together with brass accessories and perimeter Precast Terrazzo Cove Skirting.

This project, which saw the Grade II listed building undergo an impeccable restoration as commissioned by Aberdeen Standard Investments, was named Commercial Refurbishment of the Year at the 2019 Insider Northwest Property Awards.

The art deco style Sunlight House was built in 1932 by architect and developer Joseph Sunlight and today offers exceptional quality office space in the heart of the City’s business district.
