Sika’s Quality Waterproof Solution Puts Brake On Deteriorating Car Park Surface

Sika supplied a quality waterproof system to completely transform the look and performance of a city centre car park.

Described as ‘dark and uninviting’, the underground car park at Dorset House in London was in need of urgent refurbishment to increase its user-friendly credentials. The client specified Sikafloor®-EB24, a high-performance, hard wearing and highly decorative deck waterproofing system for the much-needed car park upgrade.

Based on epoxy resin Sikafloor®-EB24 provided the car park’s concrete deck with a trafficable, slip-resistant finish and protection from harmful de-icing salts. The decorative top coat also gave a light, appealing final layer; a stark, striking contrast to its former gloomy, cavernous look. The Sikafloor®-EB24 System’s components are all CE Marked and tested to EN 1504-2:2004 and EN 13813 standard.

Graeme Middleton, Business Development Manager at the contractor firm, said: “This was a large project; therefore we needed to install a waterproof solution we could trust. Sikafloor®-EB24 is renowned for its durability and comes in a range of colours. It meant we were able to provide the client with a car park that looks as smart as it performs.”

Solvent-free, Sikafloor®-EB24 is as easy to work with as it is to install, and with its 10-year guarantee, the clients can be rest assured their car park’s surface will withstand the stresses and strains motorised traffic will subject it to over time.
