Epoxy Coating & Epoxide Systems For NHS Hospital

TPS360 was involved in a healthcare project, which was to deliver a new surgical centre at an NHS hospital, including eight operating theatres, six endoscopy rooms, a patient recovery and clinical support area, and a critical care unit with 22 beds. The £87m transformation project provided a new building and state-of-the-art amenities to support the Trust’s aim of improving its patients’ experience.

TPS360 installed 320 square metres of flooring during a 10-day period.

PREPARATION AND REPAIR

HTC planetary grinders with HTC 80id vacuums were used to ensure surface laitance was removed from all open areas of the concrete substrates and subsequently solvent washed to remove residual grease.

COATING

Two coats of solvent free polymer modified two-pack epoxy coating Toughseal were applied to provide a barrier to water and water vapour, as a surface applied membrane. One coat of solvent free modified epoxide system Flexiseal Pro was then applied to provide a seamless and fully bonded waterproof coating. This can be applied in one coat to horizontal areas and two coats on vertical substrates.
