Leicester Royal Infirmary Flooring Project

The Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI) is one of the biggest and busiest NHS Trusts in the country, serving the one million residents of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

The floor in the Plant rooms were looking tired and in need of minor repairs to make sure the area was tanked and sealed, as the pipework would frequently leak. Central Flooring Services have worked for multiple companies employed by the hospital and were pleased to be chosen for this resin flooring project. Central Flooring has worked for the LRI for around twelve years, completing around 20 projects.

Project

The LRI was looking for a floor finish that would give them a sealed environment. But they wanted a vibrant colour too, that would easily show dirt and leaks to help them with the future cleaning of the two Plant rooms. The floor area was approximately 200m².

Product

Vebro polyurethane SC coating. CFS recommended this product because it’s designed with high chemical resistance and durability.

Preparation

CFS carried out a mechanical diamond grind (MDG) to all the main areas of the floor, making sure the concrete surface was level and smooth.

Project duration

CFS completed the project in 4-days – and on time.
