A modern floor for a contemporary home in Aberdeen

A high quality seamless floor is used throughout a contemporary, architect-designed home in Aberdeen.

The Firs in Aberdeen is a modern home and the architects required a stylish, seamless and comfortable floor finish which was durable and functional for all areas of the house. Veitchi Industrial Flooring, using their experience on other projects, used BASF MasterTop system for the 210m2 building. The innovative rubberised highly elastic underlayment gives a flooring that is comfortable underfoot, sound deadening and can be laid over underfloor heating. Its crackbridging properties enables the removal of joints. The geometry of the environment was complex with small rooms, irregular shapes, curved walls and penetrations through the floor. Also most of the decoration was complete and there were no skirtings, only a shadow gap. Working with BASF’s technical representative the project was finished to the highest standards. The owner is delighted with the attractive, durable and easily-cleaned seamless floor which flows through the entire house, completely in tune with the modern, clean, minimalist lines of the building.
