Apprentices Honoured at FeRFA Awards Dinner
The highlight of this year’s awards ceremony was welcoming nine of this year’s successful apprentices on to the stage to collect their NVQ level 2 diplomas from Tim Blackman, CITB’s National Specialist Accredited Centre (NSAC) Manager, at the FeRFA Awards Dinner.
In congratulating the apprentices on their achievement, Tim Blackman acknowledged the commitment required from both the trainee and their employers over the two years. He also applauded the progress FeRFA had made to develop qualifications for the resin flooring industry, working with the CITB to develop these and run the apprenticeship schemes. Since the pilot scheme in 2007, FeRFA has supported 78 learners through the 2 year programme, with a further 41 learners currently on the schemes.
The following were at the ceremony to receive their awards: For Resin Flooring: Tom Marvell (Central Flooring) Geoff Goode, Wayne Goode and Shane Goode (IRL Group) Paul Walker (4m Floors UK) Steve Dugan and Kenny Dickson (Orchid Flooring) Stephen Lynass (Veitchi) and for Surface Preparation: Mark Hall (The Preparation Group) David Raymond (Orchid Flooring) Lee Barker (PPC) Danny Medland (Central Flooring Services) William Score (Kemtile) and Jo Hall (Surtech Flooring) were unable to attend the event.)
