HOW TO OBTAIN AN NVQ LEVEL 2 DIPLOMA  

The procedure for obtaining NVQ Level 2 Diploma applies to both:

  • In Situ Resin Flooring and
  • Specialist Floor Preparation.

Brief outline of the assessment process for the NVQ Diplomas

  • Assessor inducts candidates & registers them with NSAC
  • Assessor profiles candidates existing skills using Skillmatch
    • Highlights training needs
    • Produces assessment plan
  • Plan submitted to a CITB On Site Assessment and Training (OSAT) Co-ordinator & triggers first payment of the grant
  • Assessor visits candidate on site to assess practical competence & knowledge and understanding of the NVQ Diploma units
  • Assessor helps candidate build a portfolio of evidence:
    • Time sheets
    • Drawings
    • Method Statements
    • Risk Assessments
    • Witness Testimony
    • Delivery notes
    • Photos
  • A Work Based Recorder (employed by the candidate's company) can assist candidate to gather evidence (See section on Work Based Recorder)
  • Completed units/portfolios sent to NSAC for internal verification (quality checking)
  • CITB Records are notified of achievement
  • Certificates of unit credit are produced
  • Level 2 Certificate produced on completion of all units
  • Full NVQ Level 2 Diploma Certificate only issued if candidate has passed the Health & Safety touch screen test.
  • Full certificate triggers the second part of the OSAT grant (supplementary grants may be available form time to time - contact FeRFA or Specialist Skills Advisor)
  • Successful candidates are awarded FeRFA badge and certificate.
