TRAINING NEWS - FEBRUARY 2010 |
ENROL NOW FOR FeRFA'S APPRENTICESHIP SCHEMESThe next Resin Flooring and Surface Preparation Schemes will start on Tuesday 2 March 2010. The first session will be two and a half days on 2nd to 4th March in Lincoln. If you have candidates to enrol on either of these schemes please contact FeRFA or download an enrolment form. Apprenticeship Schemes are a cost effective way of training employees new to the industry as they are unaffected by the recent changes in grants and remain FULLY FUNDED - leading to an NVQ level 2. The Scheme is open to all ages from 18+ and there is no upper age limit. For full details of grants and costs click here or go to the training page of the website for more information. |
APPRENTICESHIP SUPPORTEmployers in England taking on a 16 - 17 year old apprentice not currently employed or in training may be eligible for a £2,500 grant from the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) until the end of March. For further information or to apply, employers should call 08000 150 600 and their details will be taken over the phone for consideration by NAS. Employers in Scotland may be eligible for £1,000 for employing a new apprentice or £2,000 for taking on a redundant apprentice. SMEs with less than 250 employees may also be eligible for support of £75 per week until 31 March. For further information, employers should call 0808 100 1855. |
UPSKILLING COURSESThe next FeRFA one-day upskilling course will be on FLOWABLE / PUMPED SCREEDS and will take place on 24 March at Instarmac in Tamworth, Staffs. Courses will cost £175 per delegate (which is a saving of 50% on the non-members price). This includes all training, materials, course papers, certificate, lunch and refreshments.
