CHANGES TO GRANT FUNDING FROM CONSTRUCTION SKILLS

The level of grant funding available from Construction Skills has been reviewed for the year commencing August 2009.

Full details of the changes are available from the Construction Skills website on www.cskills.org/grant and a resume of the changes comparing the current levels and those available for 2009/10 can be downloaded from the FeRFA training section.  This document highlights the information of particular interest to members and also gives details on how to claim.  Click here for a copy.

Briefly the main changes affecting FeRFA members are:

§                PAYMENT OF GRANT

Payments of grants will only be made if all outstanding levy assessments are paid in full or a direct debit agreement is in place

§                SUPPLEMENTARY GRANTS

The supplementary grant rate is being reduced from 25% to 10% for all grants with the exception of apprenticeships which will be maintained at 25%.

§                GRANT LEVELS REDUCED

All grants are being reduced by 10% rounded down to the nearest pound, with the exception of apprenticeship grants which will remain at the current grant scheme level

§                H&S TOUCHSCREEN TEST

The cost of this (£17.50) will no longer be funded by Construction Skills

§                CHANGES TO NVQ LEVEL 2 via Onsite Assessment and Training (OSAT)

The skillmatch profiling grant of £100 has been removed

Grant payable is now £450 plus 10% supplement

Train to Gain funding is available for eligible candidates

§                CHANGES TO NVQ LEVEL 3 SUPERVISORY MANAGEMENT via Onsite Assessment and Training (OSAT)

Grant payable is now £630 + 10% supplement

Train to Gain funding is available for eligible candidates

§                TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT PLANS

Setting up the plan - £9 per employee (minimum £450 per employer)

Training day grant £24 per day per person, evidence of training is required..  Toolbox talks will only be accepted if written aims, objectives, contents and timings are agreed before the Training Plan date.

§                INVESTORS IN PEOPLE

The current grant (£1,000 on commitment, £4,000 on achievement) has been removed.  Transitional arrangements will be agreed for all existing IIP.
