A Latent Defects policy is designed to provide protection for both the end customer and the contractor in the event of a floor failing. The policy covers workmanship and product failure.
The policy covers major defects in the floor after the initial maintenance period, for which the contractor is responsible, normally 12 months.
The COBRA Latent Defects Scheme is designed to cover ALL of the resin floors installed by a company during the course of the year.
An insurance policy is purchased each year based on the contractors projected turnover for the forthcoming year.
Once the policy is put in place insurers will survey a selection of resin floors during the year (between 3 and five - depending on the company turnover).
