The kitchens at the exclusive Phyllis Court Members Club needed a new floor and Central Flooring were able to provide the perfect solution.
Established in 1906, Phyllis Court is a private members club in an elegant Georgian mansion with hotel rooms on the River Thames in Henley. It prides itself on its excellent facilities, superb cuisine and wines. Following meetings on site a specification and programme of work was agreed, including a two week time frame when the kitchen would be closed. This allowed for the installation of the floor and drains but other modifications which the club wanted to do. The existing Ucrete screed was in good condition, even after 12 years of seven days a week operations taking place, and it was left in place, allowing for the preparation to be carried as it would on a concrete base. This included mechanical planing and installing the new perimeter anchor chases. The existing cove detail was removed to allow for the installation of new cove detail without the need for specialist trims. Ucrete UD200 was installed at a nominal 6mm thickness to include the cove detail and stainless steel manhole covers. Although the kitchen was closed, the club remained open which meant all noisy work had to be carried out prior to the club opening up for business each day. The UD200, being a solvent free screed, was installed during normal working hours. In line with Central Flooring's commitment to recycling it was able to divert 98% of all the waste from landfill. Phyllis Court Club were particularly keen on this element as they too had a similar policy.
