ACO Building Drainage was selected to provide the hygienic solutions required for the English Cheescake Company's expansion plans.
Founded in the late 1980s by two people with a passion for all things cake-shaped, the English Cheesecake Company manufactures a full range of desserts for companies, consumers and the foodservice sector. In 2014, the company decided to move from its original headquarters to a new site that would be purpose built for its needs and which would allow it to gain British Retail Consortium (BRC) accreditation – an essential requirement for its pending expansion into the supermarket, airline and mainstream retail markets. ACO Building Drainage was approached to design a hygienic drainage solution for the new manufacturing facility. Channel and gullies were selected from ACO’s HygieneFirst range for their hygienic design which incorporates the best practice recommendations of the European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group (EHEDG). The Architects on the project - Arctica, who specialise in food factory design, were impressed by the hygienic design of ACO’s range and felt that these products were by far the best solution for the project.
