Flooring fit for a Queen from ACC

The tiles in the kitchen at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield required replacement to provide a hygienic, seamless and slip resistant surface.

Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield was founded by The Royal Charter of Queen Elizabeth 1 in 1591 and today it remains one of the leading schools in England. This project involved the removal of all existing kitchen equipment, floor surfaces and drains, prior to replacing the floors and drains and refitting all the kitchen equipment. The project was carried out during a school holiday, to enable the kitchen to close without disruption. The kitchen and adjoining storage and preparation rooms measured a total of 170m2. As soon as all the kitchen equipment was removed, all existing tile coverings including the drain system were removed. Using Altro resin products to provide the optimum level of hygiene and slip resistance required for the kitchen.
