Resin bound surfacing gives access to Bridlington estate

Residents at a new development in Bridlington can get around the estate with ease thanks to the access path with RonaDeck Resin Bound Surfacing.

The landscaping project was part of a £6.7 million housing development at a site on Pinfold Lane in Bridlington. The development comprises 48 two and three bedroomed houses and is one of many schemes planned for towns across the county. Main contractors Hobson and Porter chose the Beige Pearl blend to be installed over 79 square metres on a suitable porous asphalt concrete substrate on to which the resin bound surfacing could be applied. The two part resin was mixed with a slow speed drill and paddle before adding it to a large forced action mixer containing the Beige Pearl aggregate blend. After ensuring that the aggregate was fully coated with resin, the RonaDeck Resin Bound Surfacing was spread level at a 15mm depth and smoothed with a steel float. The surfacing was installed around existing ironwork and street furniture. RonaDeck Resin Bound Surfacing is ready for foot traffic within four hours of application. The entire job was completed in one shift causing minimum disruption to the remainder of the building project.
