Thompson Airways gets new hangar floor at Luton Airport

IRL Group has completed a large project to upgrade the flooring for Thompson Airway’s hangar 61 at Luton Airport.

The project included repairs to concrete and the resinstatement of expansion joints throughout the busy hangar plus additional works which were completed concurrently. Over 950m2 were laid with resin type 3 epoxy flooring from Sika, who offer specialist products for airport solutions. Prior to and during the works, a number of changes were made to the specification all of which could be catered for by IRL’s well-trained and experienced team. By careful planning and phasing of the works, Thomson Airways was able to carry on with its usual activities and maintain aircraft throughout the project with minimal disruption.
