Safe food production in Milton Keynes from Zenith Pola

Zenith Pola Flooring Services provided a hygienic, slip resistant and durable floor for local food processor.

Food processor, the Deli Company, required a seamless and hygienic flooring system at their newly build premises in Milton Keynes. Zenith Pola Flooring Services Ltd completed the 1,800 sqm project, working around the problems created when operating in cold ambient temperatures for the much of the time. Firstly the new concete slab was shotblasted, by FeRFA Members The Preparation Group, to provide a good mechanical for the finish to bond to. The flooring needed to hygienic and slip-resistant especially in the wet so Resdev Pumadur HF, a heavy duty polyurethane floor screed, was chosen. A team of four Zenith Pola Flooring operatives laid the system at 6mm and all expansion joints were reinstated by saw-cutting and backfilled using Pumexpand P. Resin flooring provided a highly durable, high abrasion and impact resistant floor which was not only met the hygiene requirements for a food processing plant but could perform in a wet environment and give excellent wet slip resistance but could withstand hard wheeled traffic, abrasion and fairly high levels of impact.
