RSL Decora enhances busy venue for the Masons

A range of complimentary products from RSL were chosen for the refurbishment of the kitchens at Hull’s Masonic Hall by Resmax

The Masonic Hall in Hull is a vibrant venue used for a wide variety of public & private functions including hosting freemason events; the busy commercial kitchens required new durable & hygienic floor & wall surfaces which would withstand the rigours of a busy catering operation. The masons required all the normal benefits associated with a kitchen environment; the floor & walls needed to be seamless so they are easy to clean and maintain with some slip resistance for the floor and most importantly to stand the test of time. More unusually as part of the brief they also wanted the kitchens, storage and office space to ‘look good’; customers often tour the complete facility before hiring the venue so design was important to create an impression of quality and vibrancy that is reflected throughout the rest of the venue. A range of complimentary products from RSL were chosen which met each aspect of the brief. RSL’s Resutile & Resuseal were used by FeRFA contractor Resmax to create hygienic coated wall surfaces. Whilst the new versatile quartz range Decora was chosen for the flooring with Decora BC the broadcast system applied to the floor and Decora MS used to create coving and provide a completely seamless wall & floor solution. Resutile is a hard wearing solvent based polyurethane seamless wall coating for maximum chemical resistance, resistance to high temperatures and good impact & abrasion resistance. It is light, fast and easy to apply. Decora BC, used in the floor area, is a multi-component broadcast system with decorative coloured aggregates bound into a resin binder suitable for use in both wet and dry conditions. Being a quartz system Decora looks decorative and is used in high-end public reception spaces however it offers a wide range of benefits including impact, abrasion and chemical resistance and anti-slip properties. Decora MS was also used to create a coving which produces a completely seamless wall & flooring solution that is easy to clean & maintain. Decora MS is a decorative trowel applied, epoxy resin mortar screed which incorporates multi-coloured aggregates to match the Decora BC range and provides an impervious sealed finish.
