IFT contracted at new £42m Veterinary Teaching Building

IFT were contracted by Balfour Beatty to install both trowel and self levelling screeds, in addition to resin flooring to the New Vet School, Easter Bush.

This facility is a new £42 million Veterinary Teaching Building and at 11,150sqm forms part of the £100 million development at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies Easter Bush Campus. The building officially opened on the 19th May 2011 which saw the conclusion of our 65 week involvement on the contract. During that period we have installed over 9,000sqm of trowel applied screed, 1,500sqm of self leveling screed and 2,450 sqm of resin floor finishes, including 740m of resin cove, throughout the building. A project of this size and duration involved intensive management and supervision throughout due to the number of other trades involved, scale of the project and timescale set by the client. Balfour Beatty demanded a level of service throughout which we met at every stage and were delighted to have played our part in the production of another world class Scottish veterinary facility.
