Newly built Coleshill Heath Primary School Zenith has a smooth comfortable floor suitable for the pupils, nursery and community facilities.

Zenith Pola Flooring working in partnership with main contractors, Morgan Sindall, provided a custom flooring solution on a new school build in Chelmsley Wood, Birmingham. Completed in July 2015, Coleshill Heath Primary School contains a full day care and school nursery, along with community facilities. Initially, the client specified vinyl flooring, but after consultation with Zenith Pola Flooring decided on a seamless, liquid applied vinyl as being more suitable for the requirements of the school. Zenith selected the Sika Comfortfloor system, a premium, elastic polyurethane from Holland with a high-end reputation in the marketplace and 10-year guarantee. The poor condition of the existing concrete meant that a pump-applied, cementitious smoothing compound had to be installed at a nominal thickness of 6mm to facilitate the application of the 2mm liquid vinyl. As well as overcoming issues with the subfloor preparation, Zenith’s team also had to work alongside other trades on site, remaining as flexible as possible as the programme changed on a daily basis, and frequently working without adequate lighting as the work was completed out of sequence.
